Titles ending in -ore (signore, professore, dottore, etc.) drop the final e when followed by a surname: Buonasera, signore > Buonasera, Signor Gardini; Arrivederci, dottore > Arrivederci, dottor Rossi; Buongiorno, professore > Buongiorno, professor Salviati.
